DR. GUY VOYER

ADVANCED FASCIAL TECHNIQUES DESIGNED BY THE EXPERT

Guy VOYER, DO (1953–2024)

Dr. Guy VOYER was a classically trained European Osteopath from Marseille, France, who remained true to the principles of manual medicine throughout his distinguished career. In addition to holding a Doctorate in Osteopathy, Dr. VOYER earned degrees in medicine and sports medicine, physical therapy and physical education, traumatology and biomechanics, as well as advanced degrees in human performance and educational science. He initiated and collaborated on numerous research projects, including studies on intervertebral disc compression and herniation.

A former competitive athlete in many sports—particularly judo—Dr. VOYER achieved world champion status in his early twenties. His personal experience as an athlete deeply influenced his philosophy of treatment, blending a profound understanding of movement with the belief that exercise plays an essential role in both physical and cognitive development. His approach to therapy combined manual treatment with comprehensive, structured exercise programs designed to restore optimal function and promote lasting health.

As a medical practitioner, Dr. VOYER devoted his life to understanding and treating back pain. During his years as a physiotherapist, he pursued advanced studies in sports medicine, traumatology, psychological medicine, physical medicine, and manual therapy. Following the completion of his medical degree in France, he undertook five separate osteopathic programs, earning his Doctorate in Osteopathy (DO). Motivated by the desire to find a true “cure for back pain,” Dr. VOYER’s lifelong research and clinical work made him one of the first physicians to map and organize the fascial chains of the human body and to define the crucial role fascia plays in movement and biomechanics.

From this groundbreaking work, Dr. VOYER developed a comprehensive system of therapy, integrating his own innovative manual techniques with a specialized exercise method designed to reinforce treatment outcomes. His development of the ELDOA™ (Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Ostéo-Articulaire) and Myofascial Stretching systems reflected his deep understanding of human anatomy, fascia, and biomechanics, and has since influenced practitioners worldwide.

Dr. VOYER dedicated more than 35 years to teaching and mentoring professionals across the globe. Through his SomaTraining, SomaTherapy, and ELDOA™ Certification programs, he trained generations of therapists, doctors, and movement specialists in his unique approach to health and human performance. His passion for sharing knowledge, his commitment to scientific rigor, and his tireless curiosity continue to inspire the growing community of practitioners who carry his work forward.

Dr. Guy VOYER’s legacy lives on through his students, his educational programs, and the countless people whose lives have been improved by his discoveries.
